Bangladesh became independent in the year of 1971 at the sacrifice of lives of 3 million people, is located North-Eastern part of South Asian subcontinent between latitudes 20o34’ and 26o38’ North and longitudes 88o01’ and 92o41’ East. It is one of the world largest Deltas of the three mighty rivers, the Ganges, the Brahmaputra and the Meghan and densely populated country with an area of 147,570 sqkm and 162,221,000 population. Having world’s most fertile agricultural land, it inheritances enormous beauty, hundreds of serpentine rivers, surrounded by ever green hills, luxuriant tropical rain forests, beautiful cascades of green tea gardens, the world’s longest sandy sea beach –Cox’s Bazar  and the world’s largest mangroves forest - Sundarbans. The majestic Himalayas stand some distance to the north while the Bay of Bengal lies in the south. The territory comprising Bangladesh was inhabited by the Proto-Australoids, and the Proto-Mongoloids later mingled by the Dravidians, Aryans and Mongolians. It has a tropical monsoon type climate, with a hot and rainy summer and a pronounced dry and sunny season in the cooler months. Bangladesh has a rich, diverse culture; its deep routed heritage is thoroughly reflected in its architecture, multifaceted folks like tales, myths, terracotta, legends riddles etc., dance, music and clothing. The three primary religions - Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism of Bangladesh have a great influence on its culture and history. People of Bangladesh are generous and hospitable by nature and lead a simple life with peace, harmony and happiness.
